When viewing a movie with MoviePlayer (or almost any other tool that implements the standard controller):

• Hold the option key down while clicking the right step button to jump to the end of the movie.
  
  
• Hold the option key down while clicking the left step button to jump to the beginning of the movie.

If a portion of the movie is selected, holding down the option key when you click on the step buttons will jump you to the beginning or end of the selection.
